Since 2004(?) one is able to buy Grundig-equipment again. I do not know what company is supplying the parts.
Where To Buy Grundig Radios
- Alba (electronics) and Beko are now building the kit, they bought all remaining assets and brand names of the company between them, and seem to be running it as one. --Kiand 13:38, 18 August 2005 (UTC)
'was'[edit]
I really, really don't like the 'was' in the first paragraph, when we are dealing with an operative company. True, its now 'Grundig Intermedia GmbH' and not 'Grundig AG', but theres no way theres going to be enough reason for some time to come to seperate the articles. Moving the article to Grundig and treating the company as one sucessive entity (with the history explained, obviously), would be a way to not refer to what is still an existing company in past tense. --Kiand 21:33, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
- I agree. This article has definitely evolved beyond the scope implied by Grundig AG. – Ringbang 01:37, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Grundigsw.jpg[edit]
Image:Grundigsw.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:42, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Also Hungarian[edit]
May i mention that Grundig is also partly an Hungarian company, due to most of its products being manufactured there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.192.246.56 (talk) 15:25, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Press release[edit]
The last few paragraphs of this article seem to copied and pasted from a press release. They don't seem to fit the article in terms of tone, and the amount of space given to them relative to the length of the article seems excessive. Do others agree? --Fun with aluminum (talk) 06:18, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
- The whole article is a mess to be honest. There's very little on the history of the company from the 50s to the 80s, which is the period most people consider the company to have been the 'real' Grundig. Grundig were a hugely important company in postwar European consumer electronics and the 'German economic miracle', and they deserve better than this. The 'Relevant products' section is pointless, since it is very partial and arbitrary and there are no links to info about the named products - in fact, it's just a list of 'Satellit' transistor radio models, which were a tiny part of Grundig's output and product range. Is there an official company history somewhere which can be used as the basis of an article rewrite, maybe only published in German?
- I will delete the 'Relevant Products' section, which contained the following:
- * Grundig satellit 205 (1964-1966)
- * Grundig satellit 208 (1967-1968)
- * Grundig satellit 210 (1969-1971)
- * Grundig satellit 1000 (1972-1973)
- * Grundig satellit 2000 (1973-1975)
- * Grundig satellit 2100 (1976-1979)
- * Grundig satellit 3000 digital (1977-1978)
- * Grundig satellit 650 (1986-1991)
- * Grundig satellit 700 (1992-1996)
- * Grundig satellit 900 (1996)
- There appears to be a lot of useful info on the German Wikipedia Grundig AG page but my German isn't up to translating it. --80.176.142.11 (talk) 21:19, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- My edit has been reverted almost immediately without explanation but with an accusation of vandalism. I have no interest in pointless edit wars so shall leave it to other editors to attempt to improve this article. At least I tried. --80.176.142.11 (talk) 21:45, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- I've undone the revert as what you did appears fine. Unfortunately removing material like that is a common flag for vandalism (of which there is a lot!) and it sometimes happens that good edits are reverted mistakenly. Quantpole (talk) 22:07, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. While I appreciate the vandalism problem, I feel blanking edits should only be so flagged after the appropriate talk page has been checked by a human. I didn't appreciate the vandalism accusation on my talk page either. I am an experienced WP user and minor contributor - how might a newbie have reacted? --80.176.142.11 (talk) 22:12, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Pronunciation[edit]
Do you pronounce the 'g' at the end of grundig. I am told that you do not. Have i be sounding like an idiot everytime i mention grundig in conversation? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.44.36.219 (talk) 10:31, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, the final G is pronounced. Somebody has been winding you up. --80.176.142.11 (talk) 21:19, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
- It should not be pronounced like Grundy (as in Solomon Grundy / Born on a Monday), through the names may be etymologically related. Norvo (talk) 15:55, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
- In German you could either pronounce it Grundik or Grundich (with the soft ch-sound somewhere between H and Sh), as both forms are acceptable and common for a final -g in any German word Ilyacadiz (talk) 17:03, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
- It is 'Grundig', with 'g' at the end, not pronounced 'ch'. Max Grundig was from Bavaria, they do not pronounce 'ch'.
- Actually, he was from Franconia, where they do pronounce 'g' at the end of a word as 'ch'. --Kraligor (talk) 22:13, 5 October 2017 (UTC)
New Grundig Logo[edit]
Gba pokemon x and y rom. Grundig have an updated slogan. It changed from 'For a Good Reason' to 'Where Home Is' - see their Google+ Page as reference. [1] Can someone update the logo to the 'Where Home Is' version below?:

Turkish?[edit]
Surely Grundig is still a German brand, even though it's owned by a Turkish company, right? Rolls Royce isn't considered German just because it's owned by BMW. I'll edit this as I don't expect it to be contested. 185.74.25.174 (talk) 10:09, 17 August 2018 (UTC)

Beko/bɛkoʊ/ (sometimes stylized as beko) is a Turkishdomestic appliance and consumer electronics brand of Arçelik A.Ş.[1] controlled by Koç Holding.
History[edit]
The old logo of Beko
Beko Elektronik A.Ş. was founded by Vehbi Koç, the founder of Koç Holding (who also founded Arçelik A.Ş., the parent company of Beko, in 1955), and Leon Bejerano in Istanbul, Turkey, 1967. The company's name is a combination of the first two letters of the founders' surnames.
In 2004, Beko Elektronik purchased the German electronics company Grundig and by January 2005, Beko and its rival Turkish electronics and white goods brand Vestel accounted for more than half of all TV sets manufactured in Europe.[2]
In April 2008, the electronics division of Beko renamed itself Grundig Elektronik A.Ş.[3]
At the Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting of Arçelik A.Ş. on 29 June 2009, it was decided to merge Arçelik A.Ş. with the company's subsidiary, Grundig Elektronik A.Ş. (to be administered directly by Arçelik A.Ş. of Koç Holding) by taking over all of Grundig's assets and liabilities as a whole.[4]
Beko is a budget brand name in some countries and continues to be in use for a number of Arçelik A.Ş. products such as television sets,[5]refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers, in several countries.[6]
Beko changed its old logo for a new one in June 2014.[7]
Beko started selling its products in Egypt back in 2014. Currently its gaining popularity and more market share. [8]

* Arcelik and Grundig to merge
* Arcelik to make 250 mln lira rights issue
* Arcelik to sell financial shares for 250 mln lira
* Grundig stock up 12.1 pct, Arcelik unchanged
(Adds analyst comments, further details, background)
By Daren Butler
ISTANBUL, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Turkish durable goods maker Arcelik and its television-manufacturing unit Grundig Elektronik GRUND.IS have decided to merge in order to increase their competitiveness, the companies said on Friday.
Arcelik also unveiled plans for a major rights issue and sale of non-core financial assets in a restructuring process as the global crisis eats into Turkey’s export and domestic markets.
Shares in Grundig were 12.1 percent higher at 0.65 lira at 1327 GMT, off a high of 0.68, bringing gains over the last two days to 35 percent. Arcelik shares were unchanged at 1.75 lira.
“The company decided to take a series of restructuring (measures) to increase its weight in the sector and benefit from the new opportunities in the best way possible,” Arcelik said in a statement.
Turkey’s economy, which grew at annual rates of around 7 percent in the wake of a 2001 financial crisis, slowed sharply last year and annual growth amounted to just 0.5 percent in the third quarter, raising the spectre of recession this year.
The companies are both part of the Koc Holding (KCHOL.IS) conglomerate. Arcelik currently holds 83 percent of Grundig.
Arcelik announced that it was raising its capital to 649.9 million lira ($382) from 400 million lira in a rights issue. It did not provide details on the issue. The company currently has a market value of 728 million lira.
Grundig currently has a market capitalisation of 237 million lira.
“Such a rights issue was inevitable for improving its balance sheet and cash flow. However, in the short-term the rights issue might be perceived negative for shareholders,” said Oyak analyst Cemal Demirtas.
SHARES SALE
Arcelik also said it was selling shares in finance company Koc Finansal Hizmetleri (KFS) to other Koc group companies for 250 million lira.
Koc Holding said it was buying 201.6 million lira of these shares. The remaining 48.4 million lira in shares were being sold to a company called Temel Ticaret.
Arcelik will book a 72.7 million lira one-off profit from the transaction.
“We particularly deem the sale of KFS shares positively, which is a partial divestiture of a non-core asset for Arcelik,” said Ata Invest analyst Erman Tutuncuoglu.
Grundig announced in December that it had cut its workforce by 25 percent in response to shrinking domestic and international markets, making 432 staff redundant in a move which also reflected seasonal demand fluctuations.
“Such a restructuring was inevitable, considering its high net debt level of $2.5 billion. A sum of 500 million lira cash injection will help to cut its net debt level to 2.2 billion,” Demirtas said.
The companies have yet to release results for 2008. In 2007, Grundig had revenue of 1.356 billion lira and a pretax loss of 93.5 million lira. Exports, virtually all to Europe, accounted for 73 percent of its sales.
In the third quarter of last year, Arcelik’s consolidated net profit tumbled to 240,000 lira from 65.68 million a year earlier.
Arcelik will announce its fourth-quarter results after the market close on Monday. ($1=1.7005 lira) (Editing by Simon Jessop)
